Financial Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY:
 
The Financial Analyst will work closely with Business heads to provide data-driven strategic analysis support to the executive team. Responsibilities include strategic financial analysis, annual budgeting, financial and analytical presentations, industry/peer group comparisons, cost analysis, new business opportunity analyses, market research, other projects directed. The analyst is expected to be able to comfortably manage multiple projects and frequently changing priorities, consistently meet deadlines, and produce reliable, accurate analysis and information to support optimal business decision making.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
  1. Responsible for maintaining accurate, detailed, and logically supported analysis frameworks, financial models, and business analytics
  2. Expected to proactively analyze business operations, and identify opportunities and issues to senior management
  3. Ability to respond quickly and accurately to ad hoc business inquiries or requests for analysis from senior management. Analyst is expected to have in place direct access to all relevant data, and be able to transform data into coherent, concise information to inform decision making by senior management
  4. Maintain and constantly refine business forecast model, and budgeting framework, with accurate granular detail and appropriate summaries and roll-ups for senior management
  5. Work closely with operations, accounting, and senior management to ensure most current information is incorporated into all analyses
  6. Prepare financial analyses of new business opportunities, from market research and revenue modeling to full P&Ls and capital investment requirements, and ROI calculations
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Position Expectations):
  • Typically has 1 to 3 years of experience in financial analysis, information systems,
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Strong internal motivation, intellectual curiosity, logical thinking and desire to have positive impact on the financial outcomes of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with ability to succinctly interpret data for executives and frame business issues in a straightforward manner
  • Excellent story-telling and presentation-writing skills, with ability to convey sophisticated concepts in a clear and compelling way
  • Strong project management, planning, and organizational skills
  • Outstanding communication, influencing and relationship-building aptitude
    Expert Excel and Power Point skills, and high level of comfort working with complex data base systems
