Job Summary:

Works under general direction, responsible for providing support for a wide variety of complex human resource activities, including, employee relations, recruiting, compensation and administration of benefits.  Their main responsibility is to advise managers, supervisors, or administrators in all HR practices, to provide information to employees about regulations, contract language, and policies, and to provide general support.

 
Essential Job Duties:
  • Assists HR management with Policy development and implementation
  • Advises managers and employees regarding HR Policies and Procedures
  • Identify and resolve moderate employee relation issues and ensure accurate and timely documentation of concerns and issues
  • Consults with managers regarding effective strategies to handle complex HR issues and concerns
  • Informs HR management of potential employee relations issues; makes recommendations on resolution
  • Assists Corporate Recruiter with on-going recruitment needs
  • Interviews applicants and make recommendations on hiring decisions
  • Assist employees with employee benefit plan, payroll, leave of absence and other HR-related actions, as necessary
  • Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 and VETS100 report annually; maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations
  • Provides training on HR issues, performance management, interviewing skills, sexual harassment and termination procedures; makes recommendations on training needs and improvements
  • Assist with compensation and classification issues
  • May perform other duties as assigned
 
Skills, Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree required; professional designation preferred
  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience
  • Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Strong level of influence and negotiation skills
  • Able to work alone on a broad variety of projects
  • Able to exercise effective judgment, sensitivity, creativity to changing needs and situations
  • Able to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with people in course of work
