Job Description:

Provide front line support and serve as the primary contact to all employees regarding payroll, benefits, and other HR transaction and policy related questions.  Handle customer service inquires and problems in-person, via telephone or email. 

 
Essential Job Duties:
  • Serves as the initial point of contact for employees with routine HR inquiries and issues related to employment, payroll, benefits, compensation and policies
  • Serves as the initial point of contact for managers needing routine HR systems and process support
  • Provides superior customer service to all employees by responding to inquiries in a timely manner
  • Researches issues in order to provide accurate and consistent answers to inquiries
  • Adheres to established processes and procedures (including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance) to resolve inquiries
  • Escalates non-routine matters to appropriate individuals, groups or subject matter experts
  • Maintains records relating to employee inquiries via a case management tool
  • Assists employees in navigating through Company intranet and HR systems
  • Processes benefits transactions such as Family Status Changes and support the auditing of information
  • Participates in and contributes to scheduled and ad hoc training in order to improve business and process knowledge
  • Identifies trends in calls or inquiries and contributes ideas on ways to resolve problems to better serve employees and/or improve productivity.
  • Provides overall support to other functional HR departments: Recruiting, Payroll, Benefits and Training
  • Provides backup coverage for other groups as needed
  • May provide training on HR systems to employees and managers
  • Works on special projects and/or assignments such as Leave of Absence administration, Workers Compensation, Verifications of Employment and New Hire Orientations
  • May perform other duties as assigned
 
Skills, Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional HR experience, knowledge of HR systems a plus (Oracle)
  • Maintain current knowledge of company benefits, policies, payroll and other HR related issues
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle high volume of customer calls daily while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
