System Engineer – GCS Technology/Vision

Job Summary:
 
NKF Global Technology team is seeking an experienced System Engineer
.
The System Engineer supports and leads successful design, implementation and technical support of our Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS) product-related goals including data migrations, data integrations, and product upgrades.  The System Engineer works closely with TRIRIGA developers and IT/Infrastructure teams to integrate technologies for data management and data migration processes.
 
Essential Job Duties:
  • Install, configure, maintain, upgrade, and support database environments for NKF’s Vision Platform
  • Manage all aspects of server/client installation, configuration, networking, testing, and backup
  • Support and lead data migration and data integration activities including the process for mapping data and developing the scripts needed for the utility to operate
  • Drive innovative technical solutions to meet the product team’s requirements
  • Understand and exhibit experience in a wide range of hardware, operating system environments, peripherals, and utilities
  • Support the setup and implementation of single sign-on (SSO) for IWMS applications
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Foster positive relationships with internal stakeholders and account managers
  • Develop and conduct internal training for data migrations and data integrations
  • May perform other duties as assigned
 
Skills, Education and Experience:
  • BS/BA in Computer Engineering or Computer Science
  • Minimum 5 years of IT, DBA, and/or infrastructure experience
  • Minimum 3 years developing data integrations among applications, databases, and ETL layers
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Oracle (9x-12g) and/or MS SQL Server (20xx)
  • Proficiency in Shell/Perl scripting, RMAN, import/export, hot backups, RAC, materialized view replication, standbys, and Datagaurd/Databroker
  • Background in IBM TRIRIGA development and/or IBM TRIRIGA Certified is a plus
  • Experience working with industry-specific web-based applications such as IBM TRIRIGA, IBM Maximo, and ARCHIBUS a plus
  • Break/fix incident experience is a plus
  • Proficient in SQL scripting
  • Experience in the Integrated Workplace Management Systems (IWMS) industry a plus
  • Experience providing domain expertise around a specific area of system architecture and software development with a focus on real estate and facilities management systems preferred
  • Experience in high-availability solutions/clustering, advanced server provisioning technologies/techniques, disaster recovery planning, and performance tuning
  • Develop efficient system design solutions based on existing application experience and knowledge
  • Serves as primary consultant for infrastructure and data management decisions
  • Strong understanding and command of the SDLC methodologies
  • Strong business process knowledge, specifically pricing, availability, customer service, account management, and fulfillment
  • Technical writing skills for technical specification and as-built documentation
