Job Description:

We are seeking an Affordable Production Analyst in New York, NY or Boston, MA. The primary purpose of the Affordable Production Analyst, under the direction of the Senior Managing Director, is to support and assist the Production Team in the origination and structuring of affordable debt transactions, generally for execution by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac. Additional responsibilities include involvement in business development, department research projects, and attending industry events. 

Essential Job Duties:

Analysis and Financial Modeling (85%)

  • Collect, review, and input financial exhibits/statements for prospective loans
  • Assist Production Team members in sizing and structuring debt transactions by using fundamental valuation methodologies, identifying and researching risks, understanding industry dynamics, industry valuation metrics and modeling cash flows
  • Conduct detailed economic and demographic research through the use of third party information services to determine feasibility of transactions
  • Travel to and conduct inspections of physical real-estate assets on an as needed basis
  • Upon completion of due diligence, independently prepare a narrative summary and financial model that will be presented for internal pre-application and investor approvals.

Deal Management (10%)

  • Work cooperatively with the screening and underwriting groups to negotiate the terms of the transaction and to otherwise ensure clear communication and seamless debt execution
  • Assist with deal management through rate lock and, as necessary, resolve issues that arise through the underwriting, commitment, and closing process
  • Monitor and update BPC’s pipeline system

Research and Program Knowledge (5%)

  • Review and apply new information received regarding affordable housing programs, BPC policies, and processing procedures including awareness of revised Agency forms
  • Research Agency loan requirements as needed with strict adherence to all required internal and Agency underwriting policies and procedures
  • Attend affordable housing industry events and trainings
Skills, Education and Experience:
  • B.S./B.A. degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Real Estate or other related fields preferred
  • Demonstrated analytical, research and written/oral presentation skills
  • Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures associated with real estate finance, such as LTV, DSCR, capitalization rates, and interest rates
  • Detailed oriented outlook and well organized, coupled with an ability to plan ahead and meet deadlines on time
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and to follow through on details to completion
  • Experience in a fast paced environment – ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
  • Highly self-motivated and able to work effectively as part of  a Production Team
  • Ability to maintain professional internal and external relationships that meet company values
  • High Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel nationally on a regular basis to fulfill the requirements of job, including but not limited to: project related meetings, site inspections, and industry conferences.
