The Information Security Team at BGC is responsible for Cyber Security Risk Management, Security Operations & Engineering and Threat Operations spanning North and South America, EMEA and APAC. The group implements leading edge protection technologies, cutting edge security analytics and are at the forefront of a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape.


The Security Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing and operating our security technology stack. The Engineer will regularly provide consultative advice to IT and business stakeholders and is a key member of the Incident Response Team.


Technical Requirements

Current, hands-on experience with:

  • Firewalls: Palo Alto, Cisco or Checkpoint
  • Remote access and VPN: Juniper or Cisco
  • Two-factor technology: Duo or RSA
  • URL Filtering: Websense, OpenDNS, Palo Alto or Bluecoat
  • Antimalware: FireEye, Sophos, McAfee or Trend
  • Operating System: Linux or Windows
  • SIEM: Arcsight, Qradar, McAfee
  • Load Balancer: F5, Radware, Cisco
  • Data Loss Prevention: Symantec, Forcepoint


  • Security Incident response– In your role you will identify, take reactive measures and close out Information Security incidents. Direct experience of following incident response plans
  • Policy evaluation – clearly understands both industry accepted practices and able to implement company policy around the control of access to systems, networks and data
  • Security technologies – Solid technical foundation in networks, servers, and general IT. Strong practitioner with firewall, wireless, network, load balancer and other security related technologies
  • Hardware deployment – mechanically inclined[SD1] with the ability to “rack and stack” as well as troubleshoot in a data center environments
  • Teamwork – active contributor as part of a global team of x12
  • Problem solving and decision making – experience of tenaciously identifying issues and seeing them through to resolution
  • Communication – you are able to clearly articulates situations in both technical and nontechnical situations
  • Focus on Service Delivery – experience in monitoring ticket queues and providing customer service for Infosec related end-user issues. Experience in evaluating and prioritizing requests for service, in addition identifying the solution
